Born Mediterranean, life brought me to the shores of the South China sea in 2006, and I made this part of the world my home. Here, I am called by many names, one of them is Flanando.
Over the years, families and friends opened me their home and showed me the wealth of their local cuisine.
Now is the time to compile these experiences before the winds of time take them away from my memory. I hope you find some value in these pages.

Sometimes I hear: "Nobody does that recipe at home anymore, it is too much work". As a contrarian, thats the kind of recipe that grabs my attention.
Did the modern world take out all the pain of making certain foods? Or does the traditional methods still have an upper hand in flavour? Only one way to find out!
I like embarking on complicate recipes, making all parts possible by myself. But as Carl Sagan once said:
If you wish to make an apple pie from scratch, you must first invent the universe
